For hundreds of thousands of people in our state caught in the “coverage gap,” there is currently no realistic access to health insurance. They do not receive employer-based coverage, are not eligible for subsidies to purchase insurance under the Affordable Care Act, and are not currently eligible for Medicaid.

I have co-sponsored bipartisan legislation to expand Medicaid in order to provide health insurance to more than 600,000 North Carolinians including over 13,000 residents of Robeson County.
