Long before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the opioid abuse crisis was a public health emergency for many parts of North Carolina. In fact, our state has seen a 15 percent spike in opioid overdoses since the pandemic began, and Robeson County has one of the highest rates of opioid-related emergency room visits in the state. 

If re-elected, I will make addressing this public health crisis a top priority by ensuring adequate funding for drug courts and rehabilitation programs.
